ORIGIN

Morellana is the fruit of over a century of experienced master millers at Sucesores de Hermanos López S.A. Morellana Picuda is anOrganic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the single Picuda variety with an exceptional quality that even the most demanding of palates enjoy.

The oil is produced at the end of October, exclusively crafted in limited quantities.

TASTING PROFILE

Intense fruity aroma with high complexity and a perfect balance. Herbaceous notes of freshly cut grass, and dominant fruity descriptors of green apple, fig and banana.

Sweet on the palate, with intial olive leaf and herbaceous notes.

Notes of olive leaf and the green banana are perceived later with a moderate to high pungency and bitterness. A pleasant astringent finish. Balanced, harmoneous and elegant aroma and flavour that permit the complexity of green and aromatic nuances of this freshly squeezed juice from Picual variety olives to be enjoyed.

    From 700 to 1000 meters above sea level.

    Traditional mountain olive grove with a steep slope.

    Continental Mediterranean climate with average rainfall and marked thermal oscillations.

    Clay with a high calcium carbonate content.

  • VARIETIES

    Olives from 100% unirrigated Picuda variety olive groves.

  • THE MOMENT

    2nd half of October.

    By hand and shaking methods

  • EXTRACTION

    Not later than 4 hours after collection by continuous two-stage centrifugation.

    In stainless steel tanks with nitrogen.

"MORELLANA" is marketed filtered, providing a clean and stable product. The oil is stored in stainless steel tanks with an inert atmosphere that helps to maintain the olive juice's tasting profile complexity.
